Pack up your bags and head to Nanaimo this July to join us in supporting local events.  U-Lock Nanaimo is sponsoring or participating in several different events in addition to our sponsorship of the Nanaimo Hospice.

Things kick off June 29 – July 3 with Youth Sticking Together attempting for a Guinness Record at the Longest Street Hockey Game which will take place next to the Nanaimo Curling Club. Youth Sticking Together will raise funds for local charities while participating in that great Canadian pastime of street hockey. CAR!!

The following weekend will be doubly busy with 2 events. First off  from July 6-8 the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival takes to the water. With 3 days of exciting activities from watching thrilling dragon boat races, a live entrainment stage, pancake breakfast and more there is something for everyone. What also makes the Nanaimo Dragon Boast Festival unique is net proceeds are donated by the Nanaimo Dragon Boast Society to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation. If you prefer to hit the links U-Lock Nanaimo is sponsoring a hole at the Remove the Stigma Invitational Golf July 7th at Cottonwood Golf Course.

And then we are back on the water the following weekend for our second attempt at the Nanaimo Child Development Center Silly Boat Regatta on July 15. Come cheer us on as we build a boat completely out of items found at U-Lock Mini Storage. Does bubble wrap float?  Our goal this year “We will ALL make it on the boat !”  Here is the video of last year’s attempt.
