Cops for Cancer 2011 Tour de Rock | Vancouver Island
Through our extended U-Lock family we are proud to support one of the riders participating in this years Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock on Vancouver Island. Throughout this 2 week event police officers ride over 1,000 kms from the northern tip of Vancouver Island to the south, raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society which uses the funds for childhood cancer research and programs that help children with cancer and their families.

U-Lock Wars – Yes We Do Have Auctions Too!
You have seen the shows on TV and now you would like to attend an auction at a storage facility, send us your email and let us know you would like to be added to the Advance Auction Notice List (please let us know which location you are interested in – White Rock/Surrey, Victoria, or Nanaimo) and we’ll let you know of any upcoming auctions at our sites.
We only hold an auction when necessary so they do not happen on a set schedule (for example monthly) but we will post any upcoming dates on the website.
U-Lock Mini Storage is on Facebook
Let’s start with 150. Like us on 
Facebook and you could win a prize. It does not matter if you are a current tenant, a past tenant, been in for a tour of our fabulous facilities, just thinking about storage, or you happened upon our really cool website and like us, we want you to like us on Facebook too. When we reach 150 likes we will randomly draw a name from our fans and award a $50 Starbucks gift card (prize must be picked up in person from one of our facilities).
1 Year Anniversary and Customer Appreciation Day in Nanaimo
Thank you to everyone who came out in the beautiful sunshine and helped us celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We had a glorious day. Hot dogs, smokies, hamburgers, cake and of course some Nanaimo Bars were served up with smiles from our hard working staff. New customers were given tours of our facility and everyone left with a very special U-Lock hat.
A very big THANK YOU to all our tenants and staff for the tremendous support to our community outreach programs. Clothing, gifts, toys, food, money and more were all donated to very worthy causes. It was so heartwarming to come into the office each day and see what else had been donated for people who needed a little extra help this holiday season. We look forward to being able to increase our involvement even more next year. See below for details of what happened in each community.
Nanaimo
For our first year of operation here in Nanaimo, we partnered with The Salvation Army to assist Hamperville Nanaimo in meeting the growing needs of our community. We placed ads in the newspapers and displayed a large banner in our facility window to encourage drop off in our office.
We had tenants, staff and drop-ins all help in providing many boxes of food and clothing for those most in need. It was a joy to deliver it all to the central distribution depot where you could see the cumulative effort of the city coming together. We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish next year.
WestShore
WestShore U-Lock was proud to partner with BC Children’s Hospital and CFAX Santa’s Anonymous during the Christmas season. A boxful of toys was generously donated and we appreciated everyone’s help in making some young children’s Christmas morning more exciting. Over $100 was collected and donated to BC Children’s Hospital. Thank you to everyone who kindly voted for our tree at the Fairmont Hotel and donated online in support of the BC Children’s Hospital.
White Rock / Surrey
A very big THANK YOU to our tenants for the tremendous support to our community outreach programs this Christmas. Clothing, gifts, toys, food and furniture were all donated to our sponsored family as well as a money donation to Options Community Services in Surrey. Both the family and Options were overwhelmed by your generosity.
We look forward to being able to increase our involvement even more next year.
BC Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees in Victoria
For the fourth consecutive year WestShore U-Lock is participating in the BC Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. Our group of happy elves decorated a storage themed Christmas tree full of miniature furniture and storage boxes. Please stop by and cast a ballot for your favourite tree.
The WestShore office will be a drop off point for both unwrapped gifts for children to be distributed through CFax Santa’s Anonymous Society and cash donations to the BC Children’s Hospital. Alternately you can show your support to the BC Children’s Hospital by going to their website http://tinyurl.com/25uf8g7 and making a donation on our fund raising page. We thank you for your help in sharing with others this holiday season.
Nanaimo Christmas Hampers
U-Lock Nanaimo is a drop off point for Hamperville and your donations of food, toys and warm winter coats are greatly appreciated. Items can be dropped off at our office 8-8 M-F and 9-5 S-S until December 15th. For more information please go to the Hamperville website. Lets work together to make Christmas special for everyone.
White Rock / Surrey U-Lock Sponsors a local family
We will sponsor a local family through the Surrey Christmas Bureau and Options Community Service collecting items to fill the family’s wish list of gifts, food and clothing. If you would like to help us make someone’s Christmas special, we will be accepting donations of clothing, wrapped or unwrapped gifts, small appliances, dishes, shoes, books, food, furniture and pet supplies. Donations will be accepted up to December 22. We hope you’ll join us in making Christmas day a very special day for a family in our community.

Victoria Chamber of Commerce 2010 Business Show
Thanks to all that visited us at the Victoria Chamber of Commerce 2010 Business Services Show on October 6th, 2010.
We had an active booth, where we talked to a lot of people who explained their need for both business and personal storage. We gave out lots of LED U-Lock Hats to everyone that dropped by, as well as a Sony Ebook to our draw prize winner for guessing the correct number of candies in our mini storage locker display.
Congratulations to the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce for putting on a wonderful event.
Customer Appreciation Day
Thank you to everyone who stopped by on Saturday for our Customer Appreciation Day at our White Rock and Surrey location. The sun was shining, people were smiling and we served close to 200 hot dogs. Congratulations to the winner of the BBQ!!
Stuff the Bus 2010
Our White Rock / Surrey location is proud to be a supporter of the “Stuff the Bus for Kids in Need” happening August 21 to assist the children of School District No 36 in obtaining school supplies.
